Pelican Driving School is a family business who have taught many people over the past 35 years to drive safely. We started Pelican in Barnsley in 1982 with just 2 instructors, due to the quality of our work we rapidly expanded the school to cover most areas. We have given our pupils the confidence and ability to go on to pass their driving test as safe drivers for life.

We cater for drivers of all age groups and levels of experience, we instruct you at your pace and can offer driving lessons at a frequency that you are comfortable with.

We have experienced female and male driving instructors. You have a choice of automatic or manual cars to drive, all our cars are dual controlled and always in clean condition.

All our driving instructors are DBS checked , so if you are looking for a professional driving instructor you can trust and are looking to learn to drive in Barnsley then Pelican should be your first choice.

Post Test Lessons and Driver Instruction

We offer post-test lessons for people who may have passed their test but not driven for a while, or people who are still nervous about driving on their own. These refresher lessons are designed to give you extra confidence and reduce your risk of an accident, remember you are most vulnerable until you gain experience on the road.

We also undertake Pass Plus Driver Training in Barnsley which is available during the first year after passing your driving test. It is run by the Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency and is designed to take your driving skills to an even higher standard.
